The Symposium: (Evolution and Politeia) in the 5th Dimension
The book takes its title from its main section, dedicated to a re-enactment of Socrate’s Symposium in the “5th Dimension”, were the participants come from different eras from ancient Greece to the late twentieth century. The book is divided in seven parts and contains assemblages by the author, prose, poetry. The book is a limited edition of 250 numbered books. The design builds upon previous publications by Christos Romanos and continues to carve away at anything that is extraneous in an attempt to approach a terminal aesthetic were nothing else can be removed. Both the inside pages and cover use the same weight paper emphasizing the autonomy of each page. Taking its inspiration from the “raw” aesthetic of the artworks the binding is transparently glued-off spine with dust jacket.
